Well today i noticed when giving the car some throttle up to 4k revs (approx) the exhaust sounds like its blowing. Its asif its coming from the front end possible turbo/Mani. I hope this isnt the turbo bolt problem! Ive read up but what is the best position to get to the turbo? From above or underneath?
Any advice appreciated

I'm also beginning to experience some symptoms of loose turbo bolts...Will any mechanic be able to tighten them??

i had had this problem too and i think its starting to happen again to mine i think its where there is too much movement in the engine causing movement in the turbo/exhaust which causes the bolts to vibrate loose the only thing is to locktight them in thats what im going to try next and im gonna get http://www.vibra-technics.co.uk/default.asp mounts

I have had a similar problem the noise I had was like a rattle till the car warmed up but loctite and the bolts being torqued to the correct setting cured the problem . bloody annoying rattle as well. I thought that there was major work ahead thankfully not.

Yes I do most things myself provided I have the time and the weather is reasonable saves a fortune and I know that it is getting done properely. Don't trust Arnold Clark around here they are the worst garage out and have NO MECHANICS!!! technicians only so only follow what the computer tells them and wouldn't have a clue how to fault find anything. Heavon fordib the had to repair a part they wouldn't know where to start. Seems they can only replace bits. I am old school and will strip down first to find problem and try to fix before replacing.
