Im currentley getting that at the moment too. It's really annoying it seems to be happening when im almost at a complete hault i.e. junction or a rounabout. The noise just started happening out of no where! It doesn't seem to affect the way the car performs i.e breaks. But it sounds dreadful and I want to get it fixed haha! Glad I'm not the only one

Ok sweet buddy, getting coilovers fitted Wednesday so if it is something to do with suspension coilovers may correct it!

I've just taken my Polo back from the garage with a knocking sound I heard when turning sharply or going over speed bumps. The garage said both front anti roll bar links are worn, cost 60-70 quid. Haven't had it fixed yet so can't tell you whether it works.
Maybe someone else has had this fixed? Would be interested to know how much this cost them.
Harry.

Garage replaced anti-roll bars but still have the knocking sound. Was told the exhaust (installed by the previous owner) is not correct for my car but no point in changing it until it's worn I guess. Incidentally what is the shelf life of an exhaust? Think I'll pop down my local garage again and see if they will grease my suspension and hope that gets rid of it.

make sure all the top bolts of the suspension are tight, happened to me. i fitted my own coilovers and tightened it up while it was axle stands, so when i put it on the ground it was loose and didnt have a clue why it was rattling. so just peel back the lining at the top in the boot and tighten it all up.
if its the exhaust, it could be that the mounting rubbers are totally worn out, or missing altogether
