I noticed this morning as I got out my car and shut the door a loud creaking noise occurrd.
It didn't come from the door, it came from the back near the arches.
It didn't sound as though it was coming from the shocks but more from the bottom rear middle of the chassis?
It happens when I rock my car side to side.
Any ideas?

worn out bushes maybe?? mine does noises as well when I swing my polo from side to side but when I once sprayed some grease on the suspension top mounts, and all rear bushes including the axle bushes, it was greatly reduced...but now it is back on

keep in mind that oiling is not actually a solution, I just did that to try and troubleshoot where the noise is coming from. I used common car oil with an oil pump to spray it in tight places, make sure you do not oil your tires or disk brakes mate

Thanks. Are bushings easy to replace or best left to the mechanic?
And could some one link me to some?

so this is a diagram of the once you can change:
and these are from where you can buy Powerflex bushes, they are probably the best you can get but also quite expensive ... or else you can buy from your local dealer

this is what ive just cleared up and bear in mind you shouldn't oil the suspension it should always be greased
standard white grease seemed to do tthe trick
dont ask me why they just have different properties oils and greases apparently

yeah I know that grease is better than oil by miles, starting from the point that it lasts much longer ... but to stuff grease in tight spaces you have to disassemble where the bushes are(to reach the middle parts) ... that's why I said oil is not the solution but just used to see if the bushes where to blame for the noise

ah right i see
this sounds extremely similar to the sounds ive been having, and i took it to my local garage he said no everything is fine, nothigns gona fall off
just sprayed some white grease on the shocks said let that work in for a couple of days and it seems to not so much be sorted but very much minimalised
