I've booked my car for a full exhaust system at powerflow next wednesday 5th of may. Haven't really decided what kind of backbox i want. I would really appreciate it if you could give me some ideas. My friend has a 5" jap style box on his pug 306 and its sounds so loud, almost too loud; has a nice burble tho. Maximum i think i'll go is 4" maybe 4.5", cos the exhaust will proably look too big on the baby polo. Should i just go for a custom box from powerflow??? If so what tip should i get???

Go for some Carrera 4 ones. When i get some cash thats what i think i'll have. Thier gonna be 'the next big thing'

[Yeh, I think that your spot on with the porche design, or maybe a centre upsweep. Let me know how you get on, I want a powerflow too but havnt really got the cash at the mo, what have you been quoted?

I've been told it's gona be between 280 and 380, depending on what kind of back box i get. The jap back boxes will push the price right up. Was thinking of getting twin exit (either side), but they said it wouldn't fit. Anybody know of anybody that has a twin exit on their car??? What tailpipes do they have?

Penny: Don't think the centre exhaust is a good idea. Unless i have a body kit it would look pretty silly, since the box would have to sit below the spare wheel compartment!

BTW, porsche tailpipes would be nice.

I had a 4x2 inch on my golf - upturned at the end. Don't know the exact name. It was mint - loud when you gave it some, but a really really smooth grumble at tickover - superb. looks the business too.

i was quoted for £500 for twin 5" jap boxes

personally i wouldnt go for a jap one but its your choise. as for that price id be looking for a cat back. remus do a left-right exit system have a look on their website

twin 5" jap style is probably too extreme for a polo!!

I didnt think about it that way but agree that the jap boxes wouldnt really suit the polo but who knows Good luck

powerflow are good at what they do, mine was done by powerflow and i have the quietest one they doo but its still loud, often a bit too loud!

Thanx a lot boys, and girls if there are any. Haven't really decided yet, but will probably go for one not twin. As for the new polo, i've seen one with twin exit exhaust jap style and it looked absolutely awesome. It might be somewhere on this forum, its blue.

Single 5" jap style
Twin 3.5" maybe 4 (either jap box or custom made)
Twin Dtm upswept

single 5" jap should be cheaper than a 3.5/4" twin.
