Have attempted twice now but just keep resetting the service miles instead.

Help would be very much appreciated.

Put the key in the ignition but do not turn it on.
Press and hold the wee reset button on dash for 10 seconds
turn on ignition but do not start car, and wait 10 seconds (still holding button)
a --- should appear
release button and turn off the key,
Start car and the indicator should be reset

This worked in my 1.4 tdi a few weeks ago.

Instead of starting a topic you could've had a look at the topic that is above this one now - Gives you full detail on resetting service codes.

What year is your polo - sounds like you might have a mk4, therefore that would explain the problem.

Its the mk5 6n2, according to the topics its exactly the same way to reset the service miles as it is the oil service. So if the service miles was resetting itself i just had to do exactly the same again for the oil straight after?

Ye normally its just a case of pressing and holding it and itll clear all, but if not, clear the first, ignition off then hold it and turn ignition on again.

ok thanks a lot.
Mines a red one too, your wheels look quality, I was wondering what colour alloys would look the best with red.

Cheers :)

White or silver always looks good, and black for the stealth look ;)
