Service

Hi all

Just had my car serviced. Got back and looked in the service book. It says that it had a oil and filter change and that it was a interval service. However, longlife oil was not used and that it is due for another service at 25,000 miles or Oct 11, whatever comes first. My car though had longlife oil when it was delivered(I had it brand new, it is on Motability), so I was expecting it to have longlife oil again. I do about 840 miles a month, roughly 10,000 miles a year. I don't think time and distance would be suitable for that kind of milage. Also, Motability apparently only authorise longlife servicing now.

What should I do, stick to what oil they put in or contact the dealer to say they put in the wrong oil?

Advice would be appreciated.

Regards
Craig

I don't know who for pays for what with motability, but it does look like who ever pays the bills will need to cough up again in 12 months/10,000 miles time. I would think that that is okay for a private owner/driver - but will mess up motability's costs if it is them that is paying for the servicing. You really need to talk to both parties very soon.

Thanks for the advice. I will speak to Hawco/Motability this week. My last car, Mark V Golf, had just one service, and that was longlife oil. Cannot see Motability really wanting to pay for two services, especially when my car goes back in May 2012. Will have to wait and see.
