Hey guys

Just put a k and n filter in mycar, thought it would need more air as that should help improve, now i want to remap the car as i am doing lots of motorway driving

I live in bradford but work in manchester, i heard that capital fx in bradford remap but then someone who had an audi from there had to keep changing his clutch every 6 months, so is there anywhere decent

dont mind getting the remap done in manchester, also going to birmingham on the weekend so if theres a place there will get it done

Let me know please as i just want more power lol!!! mainly to lower the revs to increase fuel consumption as i only get 50/55

Cheers

Shazarda

If you go for Manchester there's Awesome Gti. That's where my car was remapped :)

As mentioned above Awesome GTi are good mappers but there are a whole host of companies in the UK including several Mobile mappers too. Here's a few popular companies

Jabbasport - Peterbrough
JBS Auto Designs - Chesterfield
AMD - Essex
More BHP - Crewe
P-Torque - Wolverhampton
Angel Tuning - Warwickshire, Kent, Devon, Essex, South Wales, Yorkshire, Berkshire, Scotland

Yeah Jabba are a good company, all of the above are really good though.
Will at P-Torque does a fantastic job, he has re-mapped a few of my mates cars and got some fantastic performance figures from stage 1 maps.

Just wanted to ask do you know what you paid to get it remapped, as a lot of places vary, and finding a good deal is worth asking for...

so far, found a quote for 200, that was at custom tuning, i also found a quote for 175 but that was the place that had the audi with the bad review so didn twant to go there

Your looking at between £175-£350 depending on where you go

If it was my Car I would be looking to get it re-mapped at Awesome GTI because they can do a rolling road run both before & after the re-map so you can actually see what horse power you car is running at. Its not always neccesary but I think its nice to know.

The 1.4TDI has 75bhp as standard and when re-mapped can achieve between 105-110bhp and loads of Torque 8)

hey bud,

just wanted to let you know that i got mine done at r-tech,

they check the turbo before you get it done and also do a before and after,

I should of got my polo done but never managed to do it, but i got my bora done and its a sweet ride, far better, a 196bhp from a beautiful 150...who can complain....

it only cost me 250 all included, they use a revo map, but they tweak it to get the best from your car...mine was supposed to only be 190, but got 196, so says a lot....

if r-tech is too far away, it was for me but i went for piece of mind, try Awesome GTI, they do know their stuff and you probably will get a far better experience ofit being done - just ask if they inspect the turbo before doing it, if they dont dont get it from awesome

the reason why i said aweseome is because i took my missus with me to r-tech and if your not interested in cars it gets quite boring, in their small office, although they did have a tv which helped a lot for the missus, Awesome is supposed to have a nice waiting area lol....r-tech didnt really let me look at it getting mapped up lol, so hence why im saying on the customer waiting area lol, not even a cup of tea, but then in yorkshire we are nicer folk lol, southerners are miserable gits....

Hope that helps,

email me if you need any further info, dont bother with the k and n filter, wasnt worth it on my polo, would suggest getting an allard egr delete, will make a big difference to performance on your polo and mpg!!!

Let me know your what your getting on mpg out of interest on your car, would be good to know to compare!!!

Regarding re-maps, is it worth the money to get a re-map done to a 1.4 8v petrol polo?

I think standard its at 60bhp..

Would you bother? I know that a re-map has more effect on a diesel engine.

Re-maps are more effective on Turbocharged cars mate, so thats Turbo petrols & TDI's.

I wouldnt bother spending £200+ for a re-map on a 1.4 8V in all honesty, your looking at a realistic gain of 3bhp, maybe 5bhp maximum.

Ok, thanks for the reply.

5bhp is most defiantly not worth £200 lol.

It isnt worth it in terms of value for money but I paid £200 for an induction kit which effectively gives you no power gains (1-2bhp maximum). Its all about spending money on what you think is best for the car, whether it be handling, power, noise or looks :)

The 1.4 8v Polo's are never going to be the quickest but making them look good is what its all about
