Hi there guys,

I've had my second Polo for about a month and a half now. Originally had another 9N but sold it before going to uni but now need a car and loved the Polos so much decided to get another one :D

This one is a Polo 1.2 S (Twist) on an 05 - I've started doing a few mods with the GTi alloys and soon to be coilovers or springs

(pictures will be posted soon)

If anyone has any ideas, I would love to hear them :)

Cheers, Mike

Sorry for the delay in getting pics up, phone has decided not to link to my laptop so will try and get them up soon :)

In the mean time, I just wanted to ask whether I could add in cruise control as I do quite a few motorway miles each month but I'm not sure whether it is compatible with the 1.2S. Below is a link for the kit from CarMedia

Thanks in advance
Mike

cruise might possibly work on your motor if its drive by wire, but i couldnt say for deffinate, not the easiest or cheapest thing to just try out though really either

im pretty sure it will be drive by wire, its just whether it will accept the cruise control or not, my 2000 passat is DBW and i fitted cruise control to it, and i plan to fit it on our lasses 9n, her is a 1.9tdi though which i know people have done, so its just whether someone has successfully fitted it to a 1.2 petrol or not

People seem to fit cruise control in alot of VW diesels, not sure about the petrols though, I want CC in my 1.4
Nice car though man, nice to see another 9n 8)

Those headlights, were they just bulbs are a kit with ballast? My mate came too mine one day saying he'd bought HID's, turned out they were just xenon bulbs

Just a really quick question.

How much would I be looking at for Seat Cupra or Powerflex bushes on my car. The only reason why I ask is:

1) I'm looking at getting coillies and may as well get it done at the same time and don't want to put them under too much strain

2) When moving off, stopping and sometimes cornering at low/medisum speeds (20mph +) there is a squeaking sound from the front end of the car. I'm not sure if if the seats or the suspension area.

Any help would be much appreciated and I'll try and get some pics up when the cars been cleaned. Absolutely bogging at the moment with the lovely winter :(

Cheers, Mike

Ive been told to not bother with the powerflex ones.
Best bet is getting the Cupra ones, that's my intentions, I think they're about £8 or something each so I was told

So would you guys say that going by my second point, the bushes needed to be replaced? Just that the last owner had an advisory on the MOT so its got to be them. Kind of want to get it done before things get expensive like worn tyres etc.

As regards the bushes, do I just walk into my local Seat dealer and they should know what I'm on about? Also, how easy/hard are they to fit?

Cheers, Mike

From what I've heard they're a total nightmare to fit. I usually do all the work myself to my cars, but this is something I think I might get a garage to do.
