Same here mate. Had mine done about 4 week ago, gutted

I hate it when they pull stunts like that lol. I always seem to cop for it everytime. Anyways, wine-ings aside, your gunna love it mate. Unfortunatly, its looking like its gunna be a while before you get to go have a good play in it though with this brilliant english weather lol.

Nah mate, never bothered tellin mine :S I know my dad has the 2L GT TDI golf MK5, he's 45, has about 16 years no claims. He had that mapped, running about 200bhp now, and he decided to ask his insurance how much it would cost if he was to remap it. They turned around and told him he cant insure it if he did :S. As did nearly every other insurance company he rang, so i would probs just stay quiet, and hope they never ask

Best thing to do is go to a performance car insurance place like adrian flux.
Or another option is the revo select device, this allows you to turn the map on and off at your own will very easily, and once turned off it is impossible to detect that anythings been played with
(not even VW can tell)
Its well reccomended if car is still under warrenty, ive had to turn mine off a few times its a great feature!

my car runs out of warranty very soon. besides from that its having the cambelt done in the new year, the remap isnt gonna cause a problem to vw mechanics is it?? same question in regards to servicing??

Itll make no difference, as long as they dont go upgrading the ECU firmware, as that will wipe the map off.
Possibly a good idea to start taking it to a good VW independent garage after its mapped tbf! Or start doing it yourself...

I was thinking of booking my 1.4 TDI in over the xmas period to have a stage 1 remap at revo and seeing as it is 100 quid off,it would only cos me £99. On the website it said that my 1.4 TDI would be pushing out the same amount of horsepower (109) as a stand 1.9 TDI (110) ... Is the remap worth it? Thanks
