How can I find out whether my 6n2 has ABS or not?

Reason: I thought ABS was on the list when I bought my car, but tested it in the snow and did not get the ABS reaction..

Every 6N2 Model had ABS buddy.

I too don't seem to have ABS in the diesel... I thought only the higher end models had ABS.

Errrr..ok. However, I've been testing it thoroughly on the snowy roads yesterday and no ABS reaction at all.
Neither can I see any indication on my instrument panel with regards to ABS.
Any idea what could be wrong? Popped fuse perhaps?

All 6n2 polos have ABS braking regardless of spec!

If the fuse had popped, the ABS light would be up on the dash

It's as though it just isn't there on the diesel... I remember braking hard in the wet once when someone pulled out of a junction in front of me and feeling the pedal judder in an ABS type way but since then it's never happened again despite extensive testing. Will VAGCOM show the issue?

It took a while for me to experience ABS for the first time. Infact that was my second 6n2. Just happened one day on my way home on a tiny patch of ice which surprised me as I'd been trying on snow previously.

mine seems to kick in all the time... puddels, snow and ice all make my abs kick in.

Not all polos have ABS, my 6n2 TDi has no ABS. Brought it to VW to have it checked in case it had been crashed and repaired cheaply (ie. missing parts!). They said most 6n2's have it but they were able to check the specs of mine using the chasis number and it does not have it. They said it may have been due to the fact that that mine was an import from the Republic of Ireland.

All polos *should* have abs as it was a standard option, however sometimes you do get the odd crossover model where it doesnt. What age is yours?

That is weird,my manual also states the 6N2 Polo has ABS braking regardless of the model/spec.

Inbred car buddy.

I'll have to check the logbook of the diesel but i'm about 90% sure mine also came from the republic, therefore, it may not have ABS for that reason.
