Yeh the brain can easily be placed behind the dash as the likes of mk9200 kits have a slim brain. Also you'll need a SOT lead which can be purchased from halfrauds for about £40.
You can also place it behind the glovebox.

Yep, its really easy to fit mate, got one in my car and the blue box is actually quite small, easily fits behind the heater controls.

If you've already got an aftermarket HU, I assume that you've already got a canbus to ISO adaptor? The Parrot kit uses ISO connectors, so you shouldn't need anything else to fit it with.

yeah as said i have an alpine fitted in my polo, so no need for a sot cable

well pleased it fits, how do you get the brain behind the heater controlls or the glove box then?
do they need to be removed, and where have you parrot people mounted tour displays?

cheers
jeff

oops, caps :(

You could probably manage it just by removing the radio, but I took out the entire centre console. I found it easier because you have to route the wires for the microphone and take a switched live, which is a bit of a hassle with the centre console in place. There's a good bit of space where I secured mine with a bit of velcro.

If you want to put it behind the glovebox though, I think that you would probably need to take the glovebox out - that said it isn't really that big a job, you just need to remove a few extra pieces of trim (the trim around the gear lever and the shelf underneath the glovebox).

You can take the ignition live direct from the fuse box. Its quite simple, I'll post a picture tomorrow of how I have mine setup.

display unit mounted beside the card holder on the left of the steering wheel with the wire coming thru the gap

never checked this before fitting, did the install today, went well, fitted and working perfectly, mounted the unit to the left behind indicator stalk, can see it perfectly through the wheel no probs, mounted the mic next to it pointing upwards, get perfect clarity, and all wires hidden behing steering column and dash

also, due to having an amped install, i did not need to wire in thegreen and brown live and earth as the rewiring of the amp and speakers means once plugged in, the parrot already has power to it ... bonus

As mentioned the main unit fits below the stock rcd 200/ gamma with 6cd unit or aftermarket unit, no need to remove the glovebox, I've used a dashmount to fit the display (ck3200ls) on the r/h side of the console. The console surround needs to be loosened to fit the bracket and route the cable. The mic is fitted next to the interior light, good piece of kit.

I've got mine fitted into the ashtray, with the mike mounted inside my interior light. Looks nice and stealth but its sometimes a bit hard to use the controls. Not really a problem for me though as I just leave it on automatic answer.
