Hi,

My engine starts normally with no problems, but I can hear this funny tapping noise...... its sounds like its coming from the alternator, but could it be the starter motor? The noise can be heard when the car is just ticking over standing still.

I have changed the cambelt not long and the alternator belt.

Im totally stuck.......... Has anyone experienced this?

I wouldnt say its a tapping. More like a rubbing on every rotation of the alternator belt

Its definately not the starter alan lol

I agree, it does sound more like a rubbing noise, as the belt goes round you can hear this rubbing noise. I wonder what it is??

I took mine to my mechanic and he said it was the fan belt.
