Question about Forge 007P DV - Disconnecting the VAC pipe

Hi Guys. Just messin about with my DV last nyt after seening a vid of an S3, running there DV with the little VAC pipe disconnected.

In my opinion, sounded pritty sweet, chatters like hell.

So i disconnected the VAC pipe to have a listen, and loved the sound. Question is really, can the car be run with the VAC pipe disconnected safely, or am i just asking for trouble? and will it just not hold boost when under load. I have put it all back together as normal until someone helps clear this worry :D cheers guys.
