Morning all, before i start just to say looks like a great site and av been fishing my way about for a couple of weeks now.
So, am looking to pik the brains of the people in the know.
Currently am running an Electric Orange Focus ST 3, Xenons, 18" Alloys, Mongoose Cat Back, Dreamscience Remapped and Dreamscience Intercooler (roughly 290bhp).
But i have to say I have always been attracted to the "Dub" Scene. Now the Mk5 Golf GTi is a car a like however after seeing some Polo's a tend to think these look a much better car and seem to get more reviews on being more fun to drive. So my questions are this:
1. I average 27 mpg on the Focus, 90% motorway driving, how good a return is the Polo in the Real world.
2. Are there any known problems to watch out for.
3. I would be looking to purchase either White, Black or Silver 3 door. Anyone know any good Dealerships?
4. How big is the fuel tank on the Polo and average Mile per tank range
Sorry Guys, ano you prob all get this all the time, but any info would be much appreciated.
PS plans for the Polo would be, Coilovers, 17" Diamond Cut alloys, Cubby Hole, Double Din Touch Screen, Mk5 GTi steering wheel etc..

1. I average 27 mpg on the Focus, 90% motorway driving, how good a return is the Polo in the Real world. I have driven to Liverpool from London and still had quarter of a tank left (220 miles)
2. Are there any known problems to watch out for. 06 and 56 usually have issues with gear syncro/gearbox
3. I would be looking to purchase either White, Black or Silver 3 door. Anyone know any good Dealerships? Depends what neck of the woods your from.
4. How big is the fuel tank on the Polo and average Mile per tank range = 45-50 litres

Good luck and as long as it includes the Polo GTI you will have made a great choice

I've just bought a GTi myself, so hopefully I can help a bit.
I'm getting about 27mpg (according to the computer) doing mainly city driving, on the motorway after collecting the car I was getting about 36-odd mpg.
There aren't that many in the dealership network, so if you want one with options then you may need to wait a while. The salesman in my local dealership says they only get them in every 8 months or so! That said, they have a red 5 door one which they can't shift, so maybe the people in my area just aren't into Polo GTi's. It's worth keeping an eye on autotrader/pistonheads, I ended up getting mine from an independent dealer after seeing a couple of others.
Other than that, it's a really nice car to drive, very little body roll and holds the road well. Also got a pretty good tuning capability, looking at some of the cars on here!

1. I drive around 90% on the motorway too and with a Stage 1 re-map and running on V-Power I get easily 38-40 MPG
2. Had my GTi around a year now (not from new) and the only problem seems to be the rear engine mount that I have come across, simple cheap enough fix though for an uprated one
3. I bought a Black one but I wish I went for White, and sorry, dont know any dealerships near Glasgow
4. The tank is 45 litres, I have hit 400 miles on a tank before but usually 360-380ish is normal for me, thats even with opening it up now and then
Hope this helps dude!

Recently sold our ST2, similar spec dreamscience etc, drank like an alcoholic. You will love the polo more, better compromise for both performance and running costs. You will miss the ST noise though
