Need a Quality HID KIT For New 6R

Hi everyone have recently acquired a new 2010 black 1.4 SEL, was looking to upgrade to HID as the option wasn’t available.
Any recommendation on which is the best kit with warranty, as don’t trust the cheap kits on most auction sites?

Can't go wrong with an ultra kit had mine 3years in differ cars never let me down get 15month warranty too

Don't you need projector lights for HiD's? as the standard lights on a polo aren't meaning you'll just blind the opposition?
Unless ofcourse you upgraded the lights xD

Nope just adjust the beam accordingly

As well as headlight washers and self leveling
I have projectors + HID's in mine (9n3) with headling washers, just not the auto leveling
Got mine from hid's direct

Hmmm, I don't know the law when it comes to lights but if this is right it does appear to me that the manufacturers wrote this law to ensure that motorists only purchase factory fitted Xenons, cha-chang £££££££

The Department For Transport wrote:In the Department's view it is not legal to sell or use after market HID lighting kits, for converting conventional Halogen headlamps to HID Xenon. If a customer wants to convert his vehicle to Xenon HID he must purchase completely new Xenon HID headlamps. The reason for this is that the existing lens and reflector are designed around a Halogen filament bulb, working to very precise tolerances. If one places a HID "burner" (bulb) in the headlamp, the beam pattern will not be correct, there will be glare in some places and not enough light in other places within the beam pattern.
In practice this means:
1. The headlamp unit (outer lens, reflector, bulb) shall be type approved to ECE 98 and be "e-marked" to demonstrate this. That can only be done by the headlamp supplier - Hella, Valeo etc. who must test the headlamp in an independent laboratory.
2. Once fitted to the vehicle it must have headlamp cleaning and self-levelling (which can be for the headlamp or can be in the vehicle suspension - some expensive estate cars have "self-levelling suspension" and that is adequate). Also the dipped beam must stay on with the main beam.
Under the Road Traffic Act 1988 it is an offence to supply, fit or use vehicle parts which are not legal.
In summary it is not permitted to convert an existing halogen headlamp unit for use with HID bulbs. The entire headlamp unit must be replaced with one designed and approved for use with HID bulbs and it must be installed in accordance with the rules stated above.

Touch wood, I have never been pulled over for mine yet, but they could give me a ticket if they were being picky :/

Nathan most police ok so many now have kits these days and mine has headlamp washers too wouldn't worry

I guess although not self levelling you can adjust the height too so may be another reason not to get a ticket?

Got a problem ppl. I got HIDs everything works spot on no problem part from one. The fact that the bulbs will not fit they are correct h7. Ano this. But the fitment the standard bulb sits in needs to be on the HID bulb but this dose not fit. Dose anyone know what am on bout n how do u fix this

Sure you're fitting it in the dipped beam not the high beam?

I'm guessing your refering to the little metal bracket that fixes on the back of the bulb, which you twist into the lamp to support it? If so, you gotta feed the wires that are coming of the bulb through the centre of the bracket. Some of the plugs will be very tight, and will originally look like they will never fit, but just keep pushing and they will pop through. Also, you could try a little bit of sand paper and create a lead in chamfer on the edge of the plug to help guide it through the hole

That jet what a mean mate thank u. Tbh a was in a bit of a rush whiling doing so me da was on me back for a lift haha. But it looks like it will never fit on. A cut the grommet off and fed the wires thou but once I get to the bulb the metal clip side fit on just not all the way. There seems to be a high spot from spotting it

It'll take a few attempts to get it on and locked back into the headlamp. You gotta be firm with it, rather than soft. It had a tendancy to keep poping off the back off the bulbs as your trying to lock it back into the headlamp.
