I'd say direct from VW, unless you find some from a crashed/damaged car

Won't be cheap though

I priced these up and just gave the dealer a ring and asked for them and he looked them up
There £295 a side plus coding and bulbs the connections are the same apparently but you might get some error codes but nothing an up to date vagcom cant sort out

Blimey that's cheaper than from the factory which costs £745. However you do need to think about the law as discussed on another thread (when we were discussing HID kits) so you will need head lamp washers and self levelling to be legal. Therefore if you already have the Winter pack which has head lamp washers you should hopefully avoid any attention from the law.

Meant to say I drove a demonstrator with factory Xenons and the lights are good but not £745 good (e.g. Low beam has such a dramatic cut off I found that low beam performance was worse than std but full beam was incredible and because the difference between the two was so dramatic it made the low beam appear poor) so not really worth the extra cost especially when you can fit HID kits or just upgrade to Xenon bulbs at a fraction of the cost. I would say that it's the look which is the only real differentiator but you pays your money if you want them.

Fair enough but if you got pulled for something else and they were being picky you would be gutted if you had to take them off after spending that sort of money

I have the factory fitted Xenons on mine and TBH i find them brilliant. I have compared them with my fathers 2008 Passat which has standard units but some Phillips hi performance bulbs and that doesn't even get close on the low beam.

When you test drove the demonstrator did you take it down any dark roads? as i find thats when they come in to their own.

P.S the factory fit option come with cornering lights as well

Yes I did use them on country B roads where there are no lights at all. Don't get me wrong the lights are good but I personally find that I did not get on with them I guess it's just getting used to them. The only other car I have driven recently with factory Xenons was a Golf R and I found those were better so may be the ones on the Polo were not set up correctly. The main beams on the Polo demonstrator as I said are incredible and I would not complain if these came as std as they do look great, but for me personally I would not pay the extra. :D
