hi there peeps, I own a polo gti 07 and it really surprised me last night. I was driving to nottingham last night to pick up a fmic from another member on here, ohhh ( WHAT A DRIVE ) for alopt of the way i was trying to c how high i could get the mpg, which is sooooo hard when u have a bit of power under your right foot anyway i ended up having a bit of a play with a jag xf on the motorway bye bye xf. But then the fun really started when i pulled off of the motorway and ended up behind a 60 plate megane rs who tryed to put his foot down to no avail i was actually that much faster i could have over taken him but thought i would just push him up the road for a bit this went on for about 15 miles or so the polo was faster in every single gear then he just gave up. when i pulled along side him he didn't even look in my direction and had a look of shame on his face it was sooo gratifying i was chuffed i was thinking of getting rid of my polo but i think i'll keep it a bit longer lol . anyway i'll stop rambbling i was just wondering if your polo has surprised you in any way ?

the car has :

turbo back exaust
no dv
no fmic
is running 7 psi

When I had it was running 15-18psi get it mapped

will probably fit the fmic on sunday then need to get some silcone hose's then defo remap

Even though it is running standard it has beaten the following:
Mk4 GOLF GTI 150
MK4 GOLF GTI 180 Anni
Seat Leon mk2 TDI
Omega 2.5 TD
Mapped 1.7 DTI corsa (120bhp)
Focus ZETEC 1.6
..................... etc more to try

I have never played with a Renualt Sport Megane but if you said it was no match to our GTI then I'd like to believe you

skyline gtst ( this was the best one. He was expecting to go past but instead I pulled away he asked what was in it and he did not believe it was a derv )
and the usal idiots in 1.2 corsa etc.

Not bad really so much of a sleeper my car really love it and I hope you all love yours for the wind up factor

yes mate a hybrid polo running 220hp ATM with lots of torque
just getting a head built for another 20hp and bigger injectors etc it moves mate

haha love it guys, i have also beaten a corsa vxr the guy could not beleive it was 150 bhp and when i drove my vr6 i munched a skyline but it might have been a non turbo it had no badges on but keep them coming i love to hear what the polo had embarrassed cheers lads..

i nail about anything that wants to race against me from standing start.
polo has Milltek, 007 DV, Forge TIP and TB hose sinds last week, Seat sport IC.
runs about 170 - 175Hp measured with a VBOX.

now and then i come together with some friends and people i know from forums and we have some fun.
also on legal dragraces i can show you video's of cars i have nailed, because if i just tell you, you would not believe...

when polo was 100% stock i got it measured at dragrace in Ciney, did 6.3sec to 100KM/u.
nailed R32 from standing start.

in Germany, aldenhoven, i raced against Corrado VR6 with 206Hp, nailed him on 400m dragrace.

Subaru impreza WRX with exhaust, 260Hp, nailed from standing start in Ciney.
even in 3th gear he diddn't come closer.

from rolling start 3th gear in low RPM i nailed a clio V6, mid 4th gear he got the lead, but he diddn't got far away
stayed right up his tail to about 170 - 180Km/u, after that he was getting away from me.

Leon TDI chiptuned to 197Hp, could not stay with me.
rollingstart he could stay beside me, untill he needed to shift

Mini John cooper works 211Hp, standing start i nail him to about end of 3th/begin 4th gear.
rolling starts in lower RPM polo is faster or equally fast, higher RPM mini was stronger and also faster.
specially is 4th and 5th they are seriously fast!

Focus ST, nailed from standing start, from rolling start they are also pretty fast due to their short gears.

Lotus Elise 122Hp with exhaust and filter, 135Hp, nailed from rolling starts, lost from standing start (they do launch verry good and fast)

scirocco 2.0 TFSi, stayed up his tail to 200Km/u

Golf V GTI, nailed it several times, even in 5th gear i was still faster

Fiesta ST, raced against alot of them, from stock to tuned with 170Hp and a friend has one with SC on it with 300HP.
ST with 170Hp is a tiny bit slower as my stock polo back then.
300Hp can't get his power down proper, so i nail it to 3th gear or so
from rolling start i also nail it until he gets in high RPM. (6000) then it shoots away

another Polo GTI, chiptuned with 200Hp and 300nM, against my polo with 170Hp and 260nM, i nailed it from standing start and he never came passed me.
in the end of the 280m dragrace i had a endspeed of 135KM/u.
but i honestly has to say he diddn't had a IC so he might got heatsoak...

Corsa OPC 192Hp, nailed from standing start in Ciney. never came passed me.

i raced against ALOT of more cars than this, i can't remember them all.
my polo is for sure NOT the fastest around. i get beaten many times also, but to nail me in standing starts with a FWD, you need to have some serious skills and a verry good car
and the polo is a good and strong car.
i can't wait to get it custom tuned

do you own a white polo by any chance, i'v seen a vid of ciney on youtube is that you ? thats a pretty impresive list you have there i have also had a play with a couple of focus st and there was nothing in it, i agree that off the mark the polo will hold it's own with alot of supposedly FAST cars but like you say i'v been left a few times subs & evos but they are in a different league but i think they are a bit shocked they have to go some to leave me lol

Got my polo re-mapped at P-Torque yesterday, hit 210bhp dead, not raced anything yet but its like a bloody slingshot!

yeah, thats me and my GTI you saw on youtube.
i also nailed a M5 and 911 Turbo in the launch @ Ciney, you can see that in the video,
but that is not because the polo is faster, that was just because i had a better reaction time, i still got nailed by them at the end (obvious)
