lowering Springs vs coilovers

Hi Guys n Girls,
I have be thinking about which one to go for for a while now.
I am looking for 40mm drop on my 6n2 gti. I do about 25k miles a year so I'm looking for the most comfortable option.
Which is the most comfortable lowing springs or coilovers and which brands are the best to look at?
