Looking for a new car, suggestions..?

Test drove an astra VXR yesterday,

Not impressed in the slightest, my polo is stage 1 revo mapped and the VXR was NO QUICKER if not a little slower going up the gears.

The steering wheel vibrated as you accelerated, then the wheels spun, then it went.

interior was nice, beautiful comfy seats but the back was tiny and the back window was awful, alot more spacious in the polo.

Gear throws felt like driving a van, not tight at all although i did appreciated the 6th gear.

All in all im not impressed, polo is quicker, more spacious inside, and its VW :)

Next on the list is Focus ST, and an S3, also a edition 30.

Any other suggestions?

Having owned all 3 the s3 is the best car followed by edition 30 and the the focus! The focus only does around 20 mpg and not very fast at all but has the best sound of the 3 with a sports exhaust!

Stay vag. That or go jap cos a Fix Or Repair Daily will be just that (ford). Vag have a high build quality so you can't expect everything to be as good as your polo.

I'd steer clear of the ST, my friend has one and although its quite nice and quick oh my god its juicy. His is for sale at the minute and he's not had much interest. Maybe a chance to get one at a bargain price but id go for the ed30 or the s3

Looking for a car that is quick out the box to be honest mate.

Type r's are ok but they are dropping in price and a few years down the line i would be left with a car that is worth next to nothing.

s3 would be my choice but they are also more expensive than the rest

I was looking at the edition 30's and s3's. I'd personally go for the edition 30 over the s3 if the cost is a problem. A remap on them can see near on 300bhp, pretty good power with just a remap.
