Hi all,

I recently fitted some LED sidelights, and theres a warning on my dashboard, regarding the light bulb

Is this because the LED runs using less V, so hence the computer thinks the bulb has blown?

Is there anyway to get rid of the warning light?

You will need to get some different LED's. I had the same problem had LED's with Can-bus and still had the same problem so put normal bulbs back in. Some of the others on the forum have managed to install LED's that don't cause this issue. Good luck in getting this sorted.

yeah i think i just read that thread, one with the red GTI? hmmmms, ill try changing them around on the weekend and see if it works, mine are same as yours atm, without ignition its fine, with ignition on, the warning appears on the rev counter, i wonder if VW could remove the error? so it stops, will find out.

Is there any danger with regards to driving around with the warning light on though?

You need canbus friendly LEDS to get the error to go away

I tried can-bus on mine and the ones I tried still caused the bulb warning.

Some canbus LEDs arent truly Canbus friendly - beleive me. Been there done that

These work perfectly in my GTi.

Finally sorted it! !

got some Can-bus LED's and they look spot on now !
