Is It Mapped Already?

I've had my GTi for a little while now and it's than I expected it to be. After seeing off a few reasonably nippy cars of late it's got me wondering if it's already mapped - is there an easy way to tell without a dyno session? Will VAG-COM tell me if I know where to look?

Not an easy way of checking, hence why its great for cars on warrenty

If you can get it checked and get boost readings you will be able to tell if its been mapped.

Apart from that have a run in another gti and see if you can feel a difference

If yours is mapped and you drive a standard one you WILL know the difference.

I had this issue when i first got my GTI and I thought it was mapped, I couldnt do any of the above options so I took it to a loca revo dealer who put on a ''48 hour test'' map free of charge and the difference was amazing, so I went back the next day and had it put on permanently.

I can second that, I got a 5 hour free trial on mine and it's slap you in the face obvious when it turns off after 5 hours, I went the next day and got mine mapped permanently too :-D

Revo basically bricked a couple of vRS ECU's at Harewood House VW show a few years ago with their 5 hour trial - when the trial expired the cars ran VERY rough. I won't be using them if the car isn't mapped!!!

I was aware of this as well but the software has been improved and my revo experience has been nothing but flawless.

I am under the impression that the apr use revo maps and visa versa they are verrry similair if not identical.
