You dont mess about Joe! Nice one mate, glad to see you have a fond taste of the Black 3dr GTI's 8)

I have a bad feeling that when mine finally goes i'll regret it, there is just something about these little cars.

As for the alloys I reckon you should go for maybe a set of Ronal Turbo's or Ronal LS rims which just look immense on a black GTI, either that or upgrade to a set of 16" RX's or RXII's :)

Look forward to seeing how this one comes along

So unoriginal but i do love the black. . Ideally i'd like a set of 16" RX2s, but so hard t ocome by and expensive.

I'm pretty fond of ronals but at the mo im swaying towards getting these ones refurbed ( can get done at mates rates) just undecided on the colour... was possibly looking at a highly polished- but not chrome look so maybe something like below :

All chrome looks amazing but I imagine they are pretty high maintenance when it comes to cleaning.
The 16" RXII's do come up for sale every now and again, but the 4 stud variety are usually snapped up.

That GTI you have bought is an absolute steal at £1400, I know they have dropped in price but thats one hell of a buy :)

They would take some cleaning- but then once detailed, my cars are NEVER dirty....

Coulden't quite belive the £1400 price tag, was expecting Alot worse to be honest... especially as i paid 2350 for my first one with loads of owners, tatty bodywork and 85K, and 2800 for my second with 84K, but it was in mint condition. Well worth the trip to wales 8)

South Wales seems to be the place to get Black 3 Door GTI's :D
I got mine from Fishguard but it wasnt that far for me to travel 8)

Proper bargain at £1400 :) look forward to seeing how it progresses over the next few months

Aye the Leon came from South Wales too! Will get my wheel hub assembly back together this eve hopefully. Then its onto ordering tyres ( T1-rs?) and getting the wheels done- most likely in the colour ^^..

Will probably end up having it all on axle stands while the wheels are getting done, will then do the Spax, exhaust, fuel filter, caliper refurb at the same time :D

Thanks for the nice words guys, Garage managed to cock up my wheel bearing job by not pressing the ABS rotor inbetween the wheel hub and swivel hub

So going to have to get it all back together this evening instead. Wheels wise my mate is stacked up for a few weeks, So i've ordered 4 T1-Rs, loads of sand paper and nitromorse and i'm gonna refurb the outer lips myself to make them at least half presentable until i get the centres powdercoated.
