is there anthing you can do to give it abit more power, fit parts from the bigger engines or is it just the usual air filter, exhaust job.

no chance mate. 8v is very hard to tune. Remap will only give u +6bhp, air filter and exhaust will probably give you just a noise thats all. Your best bet is to go for a 1.4 16v, the tdi or the gti and tune that.

Hope that helps mate

yeah thought as much, just going to improve on the handling, as it does have alot of body roll.

how much is it roughly for a remap on these, a couple of hundred i'm guessing.

If you can send me your ECU and do without the car for the whole day while its at our workshop, I'll do it at a special club rate of £150.

Whilst the gain of 6-8bhp seems small, it's all relative. Look at it as a 10-15% gain. Plus we do things like iron out flat spots, improve throttle response, advance timing and raise the rev limiter. It will make for a much more entertaining drive.

I've done the wife's 6N2 which has the AHW (1.4 16v engine) and it's made it a much nicer car to drive.

Email me if interested
