hey guys,

looking to get hold of some alloys to replace my 14" steels. looking into either 15s or 16s but haven't really decided yet. any recommendations? ive got a 1.2e polo 06 in silver. also can anyone recommend a tyre size? ive heard anything bigger than 195s will drastically effect speed and also knacker the gearbox. i will be purchasing some coilovers in the future also. thanks in advanced!

Nah mate sounds like you've been misinformed! As long as the overall wheel + tyre diameter is the same, there is no problem 195 refers to the tyre width left to right if you're looking at the back of the car. The bit you want to worry about is the 45/55/65 part.

Basically, these are the sizes you need to stick to.

14": 185/60/14
15": 195/55/15
16": 205/45/16

thanks for your help! just picked up some 16" montreal II
gonna pick em up in a week and get some tyres for them. they came with 205/55 so gonna sell them and get some 45s
