Hey i'm interested in getting some camber on my polo but not 100% sure if it's safe/worth it.
how quick do they ware down tyres? and will it pass an mot?
i'm keen to get some but want to know the ins and outs of getting camber?

Leave as it is.
If your tyres have even wear then keep it that way.
High performance cars that are going to be driven hard have slight positive Or negative camber so when your hitting serious corners at speed it evens out and gives slightly better grip when it's needed.

You mean using shims to provide negative camber for more arch space?
I'm impressed you can get a 9N3 that low firstly!
It's likely to pass an MOT, and wear on tyres will vary according to the how much negative camber you have.
My old car had slight negative camber on the front due to it being so low. And that wore a tyre in around 3000 miles.
It'll be less on the rear, but your more likely to be a hell of out a lot more into negative figures compared to mine (which was un-noticable by eye).
On top of that, you'll be putting more strain on your wheel bearings.
