Easy way to remove front VW badge?

Need to respray it but can't figure it out?
Easiest way if you dont want to break any tags off is to take the grill off
Then remove the plastic mesh type bit using a blunt screwdriver.
Then its a little bit fiddly but twist anti clockwise from the front and prise the badge over the steps on grill.
Then split the vw as normal. Have funndoing that though i broke nearly every tab offthe back of the front peice
