Road trip to the South of France — best way to get around Cannes?

Hi all,
Planning a trip to the French Riviera next month and thinking of leaving the Polo at home this time — don't fancy dealing with the traffic and parking down there, especially around Cannes during the busy season.
Has anyone used a private driver or transfer service in that area? I've been looking into a chauffeur service in Cannes as an alternative to renting a car, seems like a stress-free option for airport transfers and getting around between Nice and Cannes.
Would love to hear if any of you have done something similar on a trip abroad — worth it or stick to self-drive?
