Climate control question.

Guys, had our new SEL for only a day, but I've already noticed something strange.
We specced the car with climate control, but what I've noticed is that when I set a temperature, say today when it's been warm, I set the temperature to MIN with AC off (as I had the windows open), but when I restarted the car later, it defaulted back to 22 deg and with AC on.
Ive since tried a few times and it always seems to default to 22 deg on startup, regardless of what it was previously set to.
Does anyone know if there is a setting or VCDS tweak that can overcome this ?
Also, as the car has the RCD-510 fitted (touch screen), is there any way of getting the climate control commands to appear on it's screen when a button is pushed (like on the Golfs, Sciroccos etc) ?

This does not sound right, the settings should stay as set by you, take it back to the dealer. I know what you mean ref Golf the display of the RNS510 shows the temp setting etc but remember the Golf does not have a display for the climate but your Polo does so I am sure it won't show the temp on the head unit.

I thought I was clutching at straws over the dual display, as you rightly say, the Polo does have the additional LCD screen that the Golf's don't have.
It also seems that in a few weeks the climate control panel illumination will change from the current blue backlight (as we have), to a better black background with white lettering, which will match much better with the white lighting in the car and the RCD510, so I'll also be investigating the possibility of a retro fit when they become available.
I'll speak to the dealer as you suggest though about the Climatronic reseeting itself on every restart, as I can't imagine this is correct.

I didnt choose climate as the blue display didnt match the RCD510 when specing when ordering. STD A/C does a good job so dont notice any difference compared with the climate in my Golf GTI, just leave them on and adjust temp as required

this is the biggest concern ive heard alsorts about the climate system mostly saying its not that good
noisy if you use auto as it reads the inside temperature
vw recommend 22 i like 20
my clios climate automaticly turns the a/c once the temperture gets above 14irc if i want cold air in the polo i have to turn the a/c on
oh an the screen doesnt match although i can live with that i think

This was meant to be implemented as of Week 2 of 2011, but it didn't happen. Very pis*ed off because i was hanging out for a build date as late as possible and it now seems that all that waiting was for nothing:( In australia it's almost impossible to see the blue display during summer:(
