MK7 REMOTE CENTRAL LOCKING PROBLEM

I recently bought a mk7 polo 1.2s which comes with remote central locking. Since ive had the car the remote locking has never worked but when i put the key in it locks all the doors so the central locking is working. I thought the key might need a new battery so i have put one in but still can not lock the car remotely. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

The key may need re programing.

Do you have a 3 button flip key?

Its a 1 button key which does not fold away. just has a vw logo in the middle which can be pressed down. If it does need reprogramming is that something i can do myself??

Afraid it doesn't have remote locking then mate, the button just turns on a light in the key fob so that you can see the lock hole to put the key into.

I got an after market remote kit fitted for £80, best mod I ever did!
