central locking

can enybody help. today i tried to lock my car with the key and the doors wont lock exept for the drivers side. and a funny noise keeps coming from my boot.
please help thanx

the noise from the boot is the central locking pump with is in the boot

its behind the right rear light in the boot.

yep thats it, sounds almost like a robotic noise,or whirling noise

Is the noise from the central locking pump in the boot much louder that it used to be.

mine has been loud on my last two i dont think there is anything wrong with it i think its just the way they are!

The air that is being pumped is escaping somewhere, it may just be the pipe has come off the pump in the boot, if its that just clip it back on, if not you will have to find out where the leak is, pipes go to each door, petrol flap lock and boot lock.

how will i know if its leaking woulkd it work differnetly or slower or what?

mine has been in 3 times to vw and they have never said anything wrong with it.
perhaps it make a really loud noise if broken instead of a quiter noise lol

They all make a noise but if the air is escaping it will be louder and the central locking will not work.

i think thats whats wrong with mine the air is getting out. is it a warranty job

If the car is under three years old and has had the servicing done by VW I would expect it to be covered, check with dealer before letting them loose on it as you may get an unexpected bill, if it is not under warranty to keep costs down I would recommend taking it to a VW specialist rather than a main dealer.
