GTI owners, have you got the "sqeal" yet?

Hi to all you GTI owners out there.
Some time ago, it was well documented about the squeal eminating from the compressor clutch for the waterpump and supercharger pulley on the 118TSI Golf engine. Here, one person was actually threatened by VW Australia because he kept calling about getting his 4 month old car fixed under warranty. VAG has refused to admit there is a problem, saying that this is "normal", yet it is only present in around 30% of vehicles, so how can this be normal?! Once again, true to VAG form, once the awrd plaque is on the wall, they don't give a rat's about their customers, saying along the lines of "this is world engine of the year, how could anything ever go wrong with it?!".
This problem -if indeed present in your vehicle- will rear it's ugly, banshee-squealing head at almost bang-on the 6000km mark. It happens when you load teh engine in higher gears and also when you step off the throttle and allow engine braking. I personally have never heard it exactly so I cannot go any further in depth, other than it is on you tube.
What I ask to you GTI owners here is this:
1) How many kms / miles have you done in your GTI
2) Have you got this squeal?
According to sufferers, there will be no mistaking it if you get it, all the owners of the 118TSI that had it, sold or traded in their cars because VW refused to fix it and it's so unbearable, they just could not stand it any further.
Cheers,
Gav
