Live and ground wires

Hi,
I am in the process of fitting a remote locking kit to my polo 9n3. I have found all the wires I need to splice and connect apart from a live wire (there is a 5A fuse already on this wire) and a good grounding point. Where would be the best (and easiest) place to find these near the drivers foot well, around the ECU? Photos would be great, but the location and colour of wires would do. Also I don't really want to be cutting into important live wires either
