Hi guys, my girlfriends 1.4 8v has just developed a funny engine problem. Basically, at low ish revs upto 2500k, the engine judders and struggles, feels like a fuel or ignition problem. The running is also a lot noisier and feels rougher through vibrations. So far I've changed the plugs and leads (dizzy cap and rotor were wrong so need to change) and it made a slight difference, but not much. I've got all the service items to change including fuel filter but just need to service when I have time! She also said that when she let the tank get nearly empty it wasn't too bad, then when she filled it halfway, it got worse!

It also revs roughly when stationary, but is obviously worse under load.

Anyone got any ideas whats wrong as it's driving us both mental!

Get the full service inc the fuel filter done and see if things improve

Its also worth getting the car scanned with VAGCOM to check if its a lambda fault or a sensor issue

It could also be a dirty throttle body, so get some carb cleaner and give it a good clean out

Hope and wish you are in good condition of health.
I have perhaps the same problem with My Polo 6N of 1996 Year. It makes a lot of black smoke behind and as a result a lot of noise and no power.
If you found solution for you problem please give me an advice, what can be the problem?
Any kind of your help shall be much appreciated.
