Hi fokes i think my turboes had it, my cars a gt the pd130 engine
Heres a video of what it sounds like u can also just see the turbo in the video
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v202/ ... 26404b.mp4
Dunno if the vid will work by the way a im on my iphone
Basically everytime the car comes on boost or is accelerated i get a very high pitched whining noise how ever if i lift off the noise goes away thats why im convinced its my turbo iv had a look at all my boost hoses one was loose but was not the cause of the noise.
Any help would be very helpfull but i think its the worst case scenario

I would but havent the time just now due to a career change seen a pd160 turbo for sale tempted to go for it do u know if that would cause any problems with it being mapped? To be honest i was hoping ud reply u ever take the turbo out of the car urself?

Turbo will be fine if you upgrade. It maybe a bit slower due to bigger turbo but it's an easy swap so long as you don't mind lying under the car. But normally a turbo on it's way out will make smoke out the back. Gaskets are about £5 I think.

If the cars already remapped you'd probably be best to have it custom remapped to run the bigger turbo.

PD160 turbo will run just fine and dandy without a remap. There's minimal difference between the PD130 turbo (Garrett GT1749VA / KKK KP39a) and the Garrett GT1749VB found on the PD160.
If you've got a FMIC, you've got the potential for a few more horses with the PD160 turbo, but it'll run fine on whatever map you currently have.

Mine wasn't that bad but I have a GT and it started making a similar noise. Mine was replaced under warranty £1250

That's fair enough but it was a main dealer warranty claim so I'm not surprised
