Hello everyone.. need some help!!!

I got pulled yesturday for my just wanna know if anyone else has a private plate and what they have done once they've been pulled

pulled for what? the layout of your regi?

My hubby got a letter from the DVLA saying that his registration was illegal and he had one more warning and then they would take the plate off him.

All we did to the plate was use an "L" upside down as a 7. Thespacing text and everything were OK.

Couldn't believe it after everything else you see out there!

It's not wrth the risk, we got new plates made up straight away.

I wish I was brave enough to respace mine it would be much cooler

I would think that turning an "L" upside down would be seen as a lot worse than wrong spacing.

I don't think turning the "L" upside down is very much of an offence seeming the number that was supposed to be there was a 7. The "L" is just more angular and so you get the effect you want, anyone could use their common sense to see it was a number still . To be honest i think even spacing is a bit stupid. Again a lot of the time if people used there common sense they'd realise that there are only certain letters and certain numbers in order on a reg plate and they'd still be able to work it out from that!

It looks the same as my screen name but with a continental sp. 7, I want to know if they can give me points next time??

The only thing is I really wanna keep this plate it looks sweet!!

Well as i've been reading the personalized registration plate thing (in process of assigning mine) i don't think you get points but can be a fine up to £1000 and the dvla can take the registration mark away from you if you keep "abusing" it.

not really too sure about the fines n stuff, but i no a guy who had a '3' turned the wrong way (to look like an 'E') but he got pulled & was threatened with a fine. this was a few years ago tho...

Sorry i though you had a "L" in the registration and wanted it to be a "7"

I used to have K4RL M (spaced like that) and got pulled a few times (part of my reasoning for selling the plate).

I had a second set made up with the correct spacing under the drivers seat and if I ever got pulled just used the old pearler "sorry mate, I must have left me show plates on, I'll change em as soon as i get back - unless you've got a screwdriver handy?". That seemed to work in most cases

I used to have the reg A45 JDX. On the car it looked like JOX (being Scottish and all that) but the letters were correct, no fiddling had been done. I did have 2 extra spaces between the A45 part and the JDX.

Mechanic at Halfords tried to fail the car's MOT for it and a big argument started. He didn't know that I used to work for another branch of Halfords and had actually checked up on the legality of it.

The ruling was that any changes to the letters or numbers was illegal. The only thing you can get away with is the middle spacing. It must be at least 2 spacings (A45..JDX) but no maximum (A45.....JDX)

i dont think you get points but they can take the plate off you if you keep getting pulled

ive got R4B VW showing the way you read it, not been pulled yet (touch wood) i just try to stay away from the cops and dont give them enough time to read it,although sometimes it cant be helped.

halfords wont make up number plates that are not fully legal!
