greetings all.
i've done some light work on my 6R, but i want to start upgrading parts inside.
has anyone been nuts enough to replace the manual airco panel with the digital climatronic?
(as found here
http://www.ebay.de/itm/VW-Polo-6R-GTI-K ... 23129054e7 )
and if not- theoretically, how complicated could it be?
Appreciate the help

First you have to ask 'is it worth it?'. I have climatronic as standard, I'd actually rather have manual air con. Climatronic is too wooly and still needs to be fiddled with to reset when very hot or very cold....

You are wasting your time. The auto aircon needa extra temperature sensors throughout the car which you don't have.

Mine was like this. Full hot, followed by full cold, followed by..... etc etc.
Then, another, better dealership did a scan and it seems my polo came from the factory with old software and the dealership I bought it from hadn't applied the latest update to it. So now, the climatronic works nicely, efficiently and you owuldn't even know it's working most of the time:)

Exactly. Most sensors are in the unit itself, but there are other, supplimentary ones located in the dash etc. One takes a sunlight and heat reading to adjust the intensity of the aircon automatically when you're driving into sunlight which would heat up the car....
