Hi there, Ive just bought a tidy 1.0l mk5 polo. But on the test drive I heard a noise coming from the steering wheel, it sounds like two pieces of plastic scratching together as you turn the wheel. I see theres abit of plastic missing from behind the steering wheel its self, im sure its just some plastic to make it look nice. But im picking the car up on saturday so cant really have a look till then, so any help about what it could be would be much appreciated! so i can have a good idea where to start looking on saturday.

Cheers Chris :)

There is a strip of metal behind the steering wheel. The metal makes contact with another bit of metal behind the wheel. its so your horn works basically. I just put a but of WD40 down there and now its fine :)
