Hi, just covered 500miles in my new match and came back back from a 50mile trip i thought id check my levels. First time id openened the bonnet ever lol. I noticed a small plastic bag with what looks like foam in it wedged behind the drivers light assy against the inner wing. I tried to remove but its in tight. Went to my local dealer and they told me its there to prevent wind noise at speed. Not on passenger side though.
Thinking this is weird i asked them to check a new car and they showed me the demonstator with the same bag.but im thinking this car has not been prepped for sale yet .(pdi)
Has everyone else got this jammed in bag or is my dealer not got a clue???
Woukd appriciate a few people checking.
Thanks steve.

Yeah I've seen that, I think theres one either side. Bit strange but I think it's to stop dirt and muck getting up inside the wing, bit heath Robbinson, but if it works it works..

i also had the plastic bag in the same position in both inner arches i to asked my dealer and i was told it was a sound damper

so i said to him i nust have something tatooed on by forhead, fookin idiots. i took mine out as they were both full of water which i recon isnt good but great for rust.

I recon it is there to either dampen the noise or keep dirt and water out, possible both. Don't like the sound of bags trapping water though, that can't be good. I recon you be better off getting some pieces of closed cell polyethylene EFP30 cut and put in place. It's cheap-ish and doesn't absorb water and would still block gap. Bit s**t design wise really.

Thanks guys, it looks like a poor effort to fix something that may or not be a issue. Im gona look at putting my own fix on both sides. Its only packing so cant be a major issue. Dont know why some cars have both sides and some only one.So i'll do both on mine.
Steve.
