Also have L.E.D Festoon Number plate bulbs.
Theres a total of 16 LED on each bulb
The cost for a pair of these are £10 + £1.99 P&P
I have also used these for my interior lights which really do light up the car!
Heres how they look on my car for the number plates:

Re: POLO 9N3 L.E.D Sidelights
How long have you had LEDs in the numberplate lights?
Re: POLO 9N3 L.E.D Sidelights
i bought my polo 9n3 last year in November and thats the first thing i did was change all my bulbs to l.e.d, so its been a year, iv tested so many l.e.d bulbs and must say the ones i have now are the best, long lasting and much brighter.Joz wrote:How long have you had LEDs in the numberplate lights?
Re: POLO 9N3 L.E.D Sidelights
I too have tested some different types, and on my car I have to change the whole housing with a LED housing like this; http://bit.ly/w3Cort
If not my bulbs will burn out within 1 week. They melt themselves and become a VERY blue-purple colour. Has this happend to you? Or is it something wrong with my car?
Even now with the new housing, I have noticed after some months they get quite a lot less bright, so I just changed them again.
Here is a picture, first working LED, then the some one, after some weeks ( click it):
This one is obviously also a comparison..

Re: POLO 9N3 L.E.D Sidelights
Joz been running mine for over a year and been supplying my local mates with them and never had a problem. I use to have the cheapy ones where they were in a tube and they didnt use to last long at all. But the ones i have now dont come in a tube they look more like there on a circuit board with L.E.D`s and there SMD LED`s which are way better then the L.E.D`s like the ones in the tube, attached a picture of the cheapy crappy L.E.Ds which didnt use to last long at all!Joz wrote:I too have tested some different types, and on my car I have to change the whole housing with a LED housing like this; http://bit.ly/w3Cort

Its nothing wrong with your care mate its the actual bulb which causes this. Stay away from the number plate bulbs which come in a tube type like the one below:

Hm.. I've only used HQ ones on circuit boards.. This is so weird, and it's starting to p*** me off.

Re: POLO 9N3 L.E.D Sidelights & Number Plate Lights
I sure am.. Use to have the stock orange/amber ones but really didnt look well when i use to switch my H.I.Ds on. These blend really well with the HID`ssamcherrett wrote:just wondering mate, are you running the side lights bulbs alongside hid's im guessing?

You should put this on the 6R Polo forum as well mate, there's people who read that who'd take some off your hands
