Hey, I had this idea as well, but thought you'd probably have to take the whole roof lining out to fit one?

I took me about 20 mins to swap both of them over, but you have to take care with the roof lining!

Plus you have to swap the pink plug for the white one on the old aerial

Dude I got mine from a VW Main Dealer, I think it was £37.00 but the aerial is the same one as Audi TT 8J new model.
eBay worth a shot, they are bound to pop up.
