Hi
I just come accross this site and thought i would introduce myself, i just bought a nimbus grey 1.2 tsi sel polo 5 door, what a lovely car and this is an upgrade from my edition 30!!!,
I have a question though i've just put the 17inch boavistas on it as it came with the 16inch alloys and there seems to be too much of a gap for my liking between the tyres and the arches does anyone know or can recommend a good set of lowering springs dont really want to go down the collies route just yet as full warranty for a few years.
I've seen on the german vw website oem springs but not sure how to get a hold of them, has anyone ordered any springs from vw.de or know how to get hold of them, heres a link to the ones i've seen if anyone can help that would be appreciated.

Cool polo forum by the way.

Hi mate, have a look at a thread I started a while back. I looked into the OEM lowering springs, but UK VW dealer's don't stock these parts and they can't source them from Germany. There's links and stuff in the other thread. See below.

EDIT: After trawling through the Internet, i'm going for the H&R 25/40 springs in the new year. I've seen various pictures of Polo's with this setup, coupled with the 17" Boavistas it looks very very nice

And to be fair mate... your not gonna find a better picture than this. 1.2 TSI SEL 5 door in Nimbus Grey... lowered on H&R 25/40's.

Yeah.. 10mm on the rear

I wanted the OEM approach, but I tried for 2/3 weeks and it proved impossible unless I bought the parts and had them fitted at a scabby garage and it would work out about £250. Or I can get the H&R 25/40's which are arguably better springs and lower the car to a perfect stance, parts and fitting all in for £180 at awesome-gti in Manchester. Where are you located?

Same as me buddy! Larkspeed sell the springs cheap, but can't fit them! If you find anywhere let me know in Leeds let me know man! As your a local lad, don't suppose you know anywhere that does decent alloy refurbs in our area?

Very nice mate, looks awesome! Debadged? Don't you want everyone to know it's a TSI?
It's just to refurb my Boavista's to gloss black

They look unreal in black on a white polo

I debaged mine, then added a red TSI badge. Stands out a lot more than the silver.

i'm very perculier when it comes to who does work on my car(s). Let me know if you want to meet him i dont mind taking you round if your from leeds you can speak to him direct.

Yeah mate it's from the dealers. The JCT600 Leeds dealership wouldn't sell me one, as it's indended for a Golf. So I went to the Wakefield dealer and got one no problem, the guy even offered to fit it for free! Part number is 5K0 853 675 N GQF. There's two versions, it's the italic font you want
That's cool mate, i'll definatley be getting them done sometime in the new year when the bad weather clears up

What company does he work for if you don't mind me asking?
