gave the car a wash and hoover today, whilst hoovering i noticed the drivers front and rear footwells were wet. a while back i had the clutch cable replaced but the seal was never fitted properly for the hole in the bulkhead, could this bee the problem, also it has been parked on my drive which is pretty steep, maybe this has added to the problem.

also i have noticed water marks on the two rear corners of the headlining, does the sunroof have drainage holes at the back, i've noticed the two at the front or could it be coming in from the aerial.

thanks

The hole in the bulkhead I don't see that wetting the rear footwell.. Is it a 5door you have? Check the door seals.. Theres the smallest hole ever in my drivers door seal at the bottom and in car washes you can see a tiny river of water coming in lol

its a 3 door, will have to check the door seal, after doing some searching on here it seems to be a common problem.

any ideas about the roof lining.

i think i've seen your polo about, it has the 6n2 rear lights doesn't it. earlsfield is only down the road from me.

dunno if you got this sorted, and i know its a tad old now, but i was stripping my carpet out as i could smell a damp smell, and found that the rear skoosh for the rear window was slightly cut near passenger seat, were the bottom of the c-pillar hits the ground, as thats were the hose feeds pass, this hence soaked the floor and foam stuff under carpet and did eventually rot the floor, hence i had to weld a new patch in to get rid

anyway hopefully yours is sorted now :P
