You know they're not road legal, right?

If you believe thier site they claim they are ..... and you need no documents to order, and the only way you could do that without breaking the relevant laws is to sell them as show plates which aren't road legal, so believe what you will, but I certainly wouldn't spend 45 quids of a set of number plates!

Aren't all 3D plates illegal anyway? Regardless of the font...

The rules on plates are very strict. There is only one allowable 3D font

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Pe ... /DG_181503

Also, you cannot get legal plates without showing proof of ownership and ID.

So looking at the DVLA site they are legal if you have black letters on the white and yellow backing.

No, the DVLA site just shows a summary of the rules. A full version is here:
http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2001/561/made

For example, there are only 3 fonts allowed: Standard, Standard 3D and Hi-line. The police and MOT centres can spot dodgey number plates straight away, and you can get stopped and fined it they want to be pedantic.

Just had a reply back from the company

Hello,

Yes the 3D plates are road legal as long as you adhere to the legal guidelines on our website ie spacing, legal details etc.
