Hi guys, small question really,

My car is currently on 45,000 miles (give or take a few hundred), and basically when I start from cold it idles around 900, then drop to like 750/800 ish when warm. This feels really low and if I tap the throttle it settles further down then kicks itself back up again.

What sort of things can I do to make it feel a little better.

- new spark plugs?
- oil?

It also shakes when stationary. I know its only a tiny 3 cylinder (55bhp version :s) but Everybody notices it :(

Please just a few pointers on what I could do, or if it's completely shizzled lol

a friend has one of these engines in her polo, they seem to have problems with the idle control valves which is all part of the throttle body. have you got a fault reader?

mine had 11k miles and did it. I dont think these have an idle control valve, so theres no way to fix it. aslong as its been serviced properly i wouldnt worry, its just a drawback of the naff engine design.
