Hi all, is there any way I can get the code for my RCD210?
Bought it with what was meant to be the code but its incorrect?
Will I need to go to VW or are there any aftermarket programs that will find it for me?

Cheers

Look in your service book, there should be a page with a tear-out card with the radio code on it. Not much good if the previous owner took the card out though! :|

Otherwise go to VW dealer, they usually retrieve it for you without charge.

I'm kind of thinking that that car did not leave the dealer, when new, with that ICE fitted. If that is the case, then VW will only hand the security code over to the person owning the original car that ICE was fitted into! I've been there done that via ebay and what I've got is just a lump of scrap. VW tightened up their rules for dealing with requests for security from folk back in 2005 I think. What you must do, to satisy VW is, at the very least, is to supply your dealer with the radio and the VIN and/or the reg number of the car it was fitted into originally. By the way, I've never found a code reader program that is available that will convert that unit's serial number into a security code, what is required is, that you read the binary code from onboard the radio using a program lead and clip, then stuff that into a program that will convert it into the security code that you need to punch in to the unit - well something very close to that - some of teh detail might not be exactly 100% accurate. Though, I'd hope that a specialist place or back street place could do this work for you.
