I own a 2007 9n3 gti.have had it for 2 years now.
When I bought it I read that there was a common fault with the cooling system.I'm pretty sure mine has this issue,as it leaks from somewhere.it's never really bothered me,I just keep topping it up every now and then!

Can anyone clarify what the issue was and where it may be leaking from?

Also,over the 2 years of owning the car,the coolant bottle has discoloured and it is now near impossible to see where the level on the inside of the bottle is.is there anything I can do about this?

had the same problem with mine leaking, was leaking for 12 months or more and had it replaced, was leaking at the bottom corner, thats as much as i know

it leaks on the bottom hose of the radiator! only small leak so just keep topping it up!

and with the coolant bottle, you can get a replacement from your stealers! they're only cheap i think? lol

its the plastic connector pipe that joins the hose that cracks and leaks!

so its a new rad job

New rad for me as well. if you get under the car and feel for a damp patch and look for visible damage you should find it.
