Mapped GTi's on Stock?

Hey guys,

I'm interested in a 9n3 GTi (from Modded9N) on here but it's being returned to stock engine wise. It's got a stage 2 Revo map on it, which i'm worried about because it's running stock. Whats it going to run like? Can I get it reflashed back to OEM or even Stage 1? I'm not looking for big power figuares, infact i'd even like stock 150BHP

Any thoughts or knowledge on the matter?

Revo must flash the car again

The car must be remapped. You don't have to get a revo dealer to do it if there is not one close.
I would avoid going to revo direct as they will charge mega for it really

Me mate paid 400 for revo to put him back to standard

Thats a LOT of money and would rather get it remapped to stage 1 instead of going stock if I had to pay for it to be mapped again.

you can get the revo switch to turn the stage 2 off to run a 'normal' map

the stage 2 will be still on it just not 'on'

thats what mine is at the minute through the winter!

just go to revo and say u want a stage 1 map, as the polos run fine on stage one with stock parts. they might do you a deal as its already been mapped by them before

Its up to revo of course but I would doubt very much that you would have to pay for it to be taken down a map. after all, stage 2 is in essence stage 1 but with a few things turned up slightly higher because the week links in the chain i.e exhaust and intake have been upgraded.

so when you think about stage 2 as actually a stage 1+ map i dont see why the wouldnt take it down to normal stage 1 for nothing.

When I had mine mapped they agreed that minor tweeks will be done for nothing, they even offered me stage 2 for nothing if i bought the exhaust etc from them!

Interesting Chris, thanks for the info.

Looks like it's something that Will (modded9n) would get done for me if I bought the car, but would have it tuned to stage 1 as it would be a shame not to

Just an air filter and cold air feed for stage 1 + the remap?

That's it, and an aftermarket recic valve, I had the forge one.

I must say as the comment above that it's a huge shame for the car to be taken back to standard, the car was setup almost perfectly and looked amazing, to bring it back to standard is a sacrilege and a terrible shame.

May I ask why you are looking at buying a car that has been returned to standard from being modified?

In my eyes you buy a standard car for the knowledge that you know everything hasn't been tinkered with or driven to hard in its life. You buy a modified car like this because it's quicker than the rest but you accept that it's probably been driven harder than average in its lifetime, but buying a car that's been modified and then returned to standard to me is illogical. I'd much rather buy a single owner standard car that's been driven like a granny all it's life and then do what you will with it.

Good news about the map.
