6N Central Locking & wiper issues

Hi All

I hope someone can help, as this is beginning to send me up the wall . . .

the central locking for my polo 6n suddenly stopped working the other morning, as far as I can remember there were no unusual circumstances leading up to the central locking failing.

I've carried out a few simple checks which have included:

Checking the fuse - which according to the Haynes manual is the same fuse that controls the stereo & cigarette lighter, both of which still work, therefore concluded the fuse is OK

Located the central locking pneumatic motor (which activates the locks) - which according to a few motor forums I've been reading commonly gets wet/is covered in water making it fail. My unit seems to be dry - therefore ruled that out

Used a multimeter to test the lead supplying the pneumatic motor, which reads negative power supply (with the car unlocked & ignition on/off) - now 1st thoughts is the relay supplying the motor has failed. PROBLEM - can't locate the relay supplying the motor to discount this option.

The drivers door lock doesn't not manually operate the lock or trigger the central motor to release the locks - therefore I have taken the door card off & the door lock/handle off, managed to manually lock/unlock the door with a flat head screwdriver but this still doesn't trigger the central locking.

My questions are -

Can anyone tell me the location of the central locking relay? - so I can rule this out
Should the supply cable to the pneumatic motor show a charge on the multimeter?

Can anyone suggest any other reason(s) for the failure of the central locking?

I have now discovered the wipers are only working on fastest speed now (washer jet works but doens't trigger wipers) - is this related? ) I have just replaced the wiper relay & this has made no diffrence!

Thank you in advance for any help anyone can provide, as this is truly winding me up now
