Hi guys, still looking at wheels for my Polo, do LM's suit the Gti?

I do like them in 18inch but I can't seem to find any under 8" wide with a ET35 offset usually and if I lower (H&R 35/55mm) concerned I might get some catching

I think they'd look amazing. Mate just got a set of gunmetal with polished lip reps on his TT I know theyre reps but the price was amazing.

Yeah I think they'd look quite good, concerned they won't fit though!!

Ive been considering LM reps as well. Either that or LMR reps. The wife wants us to try Golf/Rocco R replica wheels. I will only be getting 17s though.

For me, in 17" format the LM's/LMR's look quite small due to the inch lip around the edge

I haven't seen a VW or Audi that doesn't suit LM's 8) Suitably stanced of course

35/55 is going to be way too low with 18x8 :(

Cheers for the help guys, I'm confused now, some people say 18" and 8" width with an offset of 35 will fit with 35/55mm springs and some say it will rub, does anyone have a definitive answer? :?

Mine is on 35/55 springs, 15mm spacers on front, 8mm spacers on rear. No scrubbing so far. But on standard rims. If you kept to 215/35 tyres, you shouldnt have much of a problem imo.

Thanks Deako, what wheels are you planning for yours? Your brakes look immense too!

Cool, thinking on 18s maybe 205 would be even better, quite a bit of stretch though!

definitive answer: yes they will rub...a lot

mine are 18x8 ET35, 225/35 and 25/40 H&Rs and the front rubs a bit if i'm not careful

I might be missing something here, but why would you stretch tyres that are too small onto wheels? Just to save money on tyres or something? Would it not make the handling p*** poor?
