how much oil?

this may sound stupid but does anyone know how much oil a new car comes out with marked on the dipstick? if i remember correctly mine had till the MAX sign on the dipstick but now after 580 km it seems to have fone down to just where the dots are on the dipstick, or was it lways like this and it's me being paranoid and got in doubt how much oil it had when new?
car is 1.2TSI

I would always expect a new car to be at 'max' level once it had been PDI checked.

ive had mine almost 2 months now and its still on max oil....
